Underwater Archaeology
We offer a variety of consulting services concerning underwater archaeological projects, following the standards and protocols established by the Maritime Archaeological and Historical Society (Washington, D.C.). Primarily, our role is advocacy and training; Mr. Robert Bennett has been trained by the MAHS and Dr. William Belcher is authorized to train individuals in their underwater archaeological field school. While we do not have the personnel to conduct large-scale operations, we can organize, train, and provide logistics for projects in a global setting.
Additionally, we have the capacity to conduct underwater forensic/crime scene investigations in a variety of settings, ranging from clear, tropical water to zero visibility in polluted waters. Dr. Belcher has conducted several underwater investigations for the Department of Defense and in consultation with the Honolulu Police Department (Missing Persons Division). Tec-Rec Divers can train government agencies responsible for crime scene investigation, search and recovery efforts as well as participate in cases in a global setting.
